Geelong will be the major host of the 2020 Australian Youth Baseball
Championship with the event set to be split across three Victorian venues from
January 10-15.
The Geelong Baseball Centre will host the U-16 and U-18 event for the first time since 2013, with games to also be held at
Melbourne Ballpark and in Ballarat.
The championships will be held in partnership with the City of Greater Geelong,
Baseball Victoria and the Geelong baseball community.
Geelong is building a strong reputation for baseball.
This event provides a great opportunity to see some of Australia’s best young baseballers and showcase the international standard facilities at the Geelong Baseball Centre.
Previously, the Geelong Baseball Centre hosted the 2018 Australian Women’s Championships and is home to Geelong-Korea in the Australian Baseball League.
Japan’s Chiba Lotte Marines also held pre-season training camps at the venue in
2006 and 2007.
Geelong will host 44 games, including four medal games.
Victoria will be aiming to defend its U-18 crown in Geelong while NSW won last
year’s U-16 title.
